The German Marshall Fund is a major American foundation with a mandate to promote cooperation among decision-makers from both sides of the Atlantic. When the new American administration took office it set up a Taskforce with support from the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation. Its mission was to examine ways of addressing major international challenges (the link between security, development and democracy, climate change, food security, development assistance).

Jean-Michel Severino, Chief Executive Officer of Agence Française de Développement, Rodney Bent, Deputy Chief Executive Officer for the Millennium Challenge Corporation, Jamie Drummond, Executive Director of the British Organization ONE and Smita Singh, Special Advisor for Global Affairs for the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation will be presenting the main recommendations from the Taskforce’s discussions in order to open a debate on the main North-South issues facing Europeans and Americans today. The presentation will be followed by a question and answer session.
